One year after our first date, I married the man who showed me love not through grand gestures, but through quiet strength and steady presence. As life brought loss and grief, Nick remained my constant—proving that healing, love, and partnership can thrive even in the most broken, unexpected places.

As my mother neared the end of her life, I returned to the woman I had long since detached from. In the tension between love and pain, memory and reality, I wrestled with what remained: a bond frayed by trauma, yet still held together by a single thread—fear, and maybe love.
